The Ontario SPCA is one of the largest most responsive animal welfare organizations in the country, providing care and shelter for tens of thousands of animals every year. Unique amongst animal welfare organizations in Ontario: the Ontario SPCA Act mandates the society to enforce animal cruelty laws and provides society Branch and Affiliate investigators with police powers to do so.
The OSPCA is near and dear to Tanya Kim’s heart and she gives back to the organization in several different ways. One is acting as their Honourary Chair for their annual Friends for Life! Walk-a-thon.
The walk-a-thon takes place in September every year at various locations across Ontario. The 2015 walk was dedicated to Miss Louise, Tanya’s 10.5-year-old bullmastiff companion that passed away in May 2015. Like Tanya, Miss Louise was a supporter of the Ontario SPCA and walked to help other animals.
Tanya has been heavily involved with the Ontario SPCA, often lending her voice and personality to hope promote animal welfare across Ontario. She has also been an active participant of the Friends for Life!™ Walk-A-Thon.
“I believe that animals enrich our lives and make us better people. I am a proud supporter of the lead organization taking action against every day animal cruelty.”
With a record number of walkers and their furry friends, the 2015 Friends for Life!™ Walk-A-Thon surpassed their goal and raised over $65,000.
